"Light Dew" Outstanding freshness with a creamy note. A true delicacy. Don't hesitate – follow the white rabbit...
The Tsuyuhikari cultivar was developed in 1970 by crossing Asatsuyu and Shizu-7132. By 2001 it had gained such recognition that farmers in Shizuoka began officially recommending it, despite its formal registration only taking place in March of that year. It is typically harvested around 2 days earlier than the classic Yabukita.
The name was chosen with the vision that Tsuyuhikari would bring a bright future to the tea industry in Shizuoka – and it certainly delivers an outstanding flavour.
