Sencha Gokacha comes from the Nengancha 念願茶 tea garden, located in the village of Higashi-Shirakawa (“Eastern White River”) in Gifu Prefecture. Nestled at 450–500 meters above sea level and surrounded by dense mountain forests, this tea field benefits from an ideal microclimate – abundant rainfall, frequent mist, and sharp temperature differences between day and night – creating the perfect environment for growing high-quality sencha.

The Gokacha field (“excellent tea”) was long abandoned until Aleš from Nengancha decided to restore it with care and dedication. Thanks to precise asamushi processing (light steaming), this sencha retains its delicate taste, fresh green aroma, and a soft natural sweetness typical of this mountainous terroir.

In the cup, you’ll find a clean, balanced sencha, perfect for those seeking a meditative daily ritual or a gentle yet refreshing companion for focused moments. With a moderate caffeine content, it’s ideal for late mornings or early afternoons.

Nengancha 念願茶 is the name of the plantation located in the village of Higashishirakawa (“Eastern White River”) in Gifu Prefecture. Situated at an altitude of 450–500 meters, surrounded by dense forests, and facing south, this plantation benefits from a unique microclimate ideal for tea cultivation. High annual rainfall (approximately 2,500 mm), frequent mists, and significant temperature differences between day and night provide perfect conditions for producing high-quality sencha.
